Chooch is a Belgian Malinois who began his three month training period with his handler, Lieutenant Brian Grooms in late 2019. Chooch's training was completed and he began patrolling the City in January 2020. Chooch participates in ongoing training in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania twice a month. Unfortunately, Gunner has passed away. Gunner patrolled the streets with his handler Lieutenant Brian Grooms for several years. Gunner fell ill, was taken to the veterinarian. The veterinarian Gunner to have many internal issues that could not be corrected. Gunner was laid to rest at the hospital.

The grant has funded the Mobile Automated Fingerprint Identification System device and the service needed to

The Butler City Police Department in cooperation with the Chiefs of Police Association, the Pennsylvania State Police, Evans City Seven Fields Regional Police Department and Data Works Plus have been approved for a grant. The grant has funded the Mobile Automated Fingerprint Identification System device and the service needed to operate it for a limited time. The device assists in positively identifying persons via their fingerprints. The department would like to thank those agencies that funded, supported and assisted with obtaining the grant. The device has been deployed to the patrol division to assist with law enforcement duties.
